Check the STATUS of a
person before sending a message.
The STAR next
to a person's name indicates if they are available for immediate Chat.
A Yellow Star
means
they are Online and can Chat.
A Gray Star
means they are OFFLINE and not able to Chat.
A Gray Star with a yellow message in front
means
they are Away from their desk and not able to Chat.
How do I check a person's
Status?
To check the Status, right click on the person's name and select Check
Status. The status may display they are "At Lunch", "Away from
Desk", "Gone for Day" or a personalized message.
What if I send a Message and the
person is not at their desk?
When they return to their desk, they will receive the message.
How do I start to CHAT with a
person?
Double Click on a person's name OR Right Click on a
person's name and select Open Chat Window.
How to Send a Message?
Right Click on the name of the person you wish to
communicate to and click on Send Message. A box appears. Type
your message and Click Send to have the message sent.
PERSONALIZE MY SETTINGS
Set IM to LOGIN automatically
when I start my computer.
Right Click the Star in the System
Tray (lower right corner of your screen), select PSI, then select
ACCOUNT SETUP. When the Accounts Screen displays, Click on MODIFY.
Click on the PREFERENCES Tab at the top.
Check Automatically connect at startup. Click on SAVE.
Can I prevent the notifications at the
lower right when someone goes Online or Offline?
To prevent the notifications in the lower right, Right Click the Star in
the System Tray (lower right corner of your screen), select PSI, select
OPTIONS. Click EVENTS on the left side.
Check Enable Pop Up Notifications, UNcheck When a contact
becomes available and UNcheck When a contact becomes unavailable.
Click on APPLY to save changes.
Can I cause new messages to Pop-Up
automatically?
Right Click the Star in the System Tray (lower right corner of your
screen), select PSI, select OPTIONS. Click EVENTS on the left
side.
Check Auto-open New Messages and Check Auto-open New Headlines.
Check Auto-authorize contacts.
